Bart Millard is a founding member and the lead singer of the multi-platinum band MercyMe. Millard wrote the multi-platinum, award-winning hit song “I Can Only Imagine” which made history in 2014 when it surpassed 2 million digital downloads, making it the first song in Christian music to go platinum and double-platinum in the digital domain. The song has now gone 5x platinum.

In 2009 Billboard named MercyMe’s “Word Of God Speak,” co-written by Bart as the No. 1 Song of The Decade. Millard has written on more than 48 No. 1 multi-format MercyMe radio singles.

He’s also an acclaimed songwriter and artist in his own right. He’s written songs that have been cut by artists such as Crowder, Francesca Battistelli, The Afters & more. Millard also has two solo albums. His first, Hymned No. 1, fuses traditional gospel, Texas blues, and Southern hymns of his youth, was released in August of 2005. He released his second solo project in 2008, Hymned Again.
